My name is Irene and I have owned and operated Personal Best since 1990.  I began with one other stylist at the age of 27.  After 15 years I doubled the size of the salon and added additional stylists.  Servicing Worcester County for many years has been very fulfilling and I have been very fortunate to be as successful as I have been. Thirty six years into my career, Covid hit and life was no longer the same.   

In order to feel I was doing my best for myself and my highly compromised partner who was terminally ill, I felt I needed to downsize and continue my business solo.  I began working by appointment only and always provided the utmost of care for my clients. 

In 2025 I had been at the same location for almost 32 years. Still working by appointment only and being very fortunate to have the wonderful clients that I do, I decided it was time for a change. I am on the wind-down of my career and made the decision to move on and now rent two chairs at “574 Chair and Suite” located at 574 Pleasant Street in Worcester. I am still my own boss, my own hours, and am able to focus 100% of my energy to my clients.

I am a seasoned stylist of of over 41 years and pride myself on the advanced education I have always obtained.  I consider Hair my career, not just a job. Being a stylist could not be any more rewarding than it is. I have new clients , and clients that have blessed me with their hair for over 40 years!
